MBA Monthly Meeting Minutes, April 19th, 2016

Call to order/introductions: The meeting was called to order at 2:10 pm.  Attendees introduced themselves.

Approved February 2016 minutes: Minutes were approved unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: Bank Balance is $715.21. Grant Project expenses are pre-funded by the MBA then expenses are submitted for reimbursement from allocated Grant funds. Future Grant funds may be used for promoting the Morena District via Mobil App Program.

 

 

Old/New Business:

A.            MBA website update-continuing improvements in progress

B.            MBA Street Banner update-redesign needed before June 2016

C.            MBA Mobile APP promotion update-320 downloads, 2200 visitors to APP since March 2016, 400 visitors to local Business coupon section, showcase Business interviews & highlight local Businesses via videos, suggested use of drone work to create video of Morena District

D.            2016 MBA March 16th Mixer results-Poseidon Project, 15-20 attendees

E.            2016 MBA April 13th “Taste of Morena”-509 tickets sold for $12,725 plus Sponsorship of $400 from Morena Storage

 

 

Business Community Commentary:

A.            Natalia Mendez, Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon on June 5th, 2016 – Course redesign & adjusted road closure times 6am to noon.  One lane access going North from Napa to Tecolote; Southbound lane access on Morena will be open. Runners Perk Campaign created to offer the Community & local Businesses the opportunity to promote their business to over 30,000 runners

B.            Hank Zapisek, Financial Network Investment, MBA Treasurer-suggestion for Community Business outreach to arriving USD students

C.            Tom Cleary, USD Senior Director Community & Gov’t Relations-suggestion for MBA to promote local Businesses via USD’s weekly student newspaper ‘The VIST!”
